15 students from Grade 10 are exhibiting their Presonal Project to parents, students and the invited guests, primary sources and community on Thursday and Friday, April 11-12, 2019.
Their process and product are presented comprehensively, demonstrating their personal interest and the engagement to ATL skills with which connected to specific global context throughout 8 months long.
Personal Project is aimed to encourage and enable Year 5 students to participate in a sustained, self-directed inquiry within a global context, generate creative new insights and develop deeper understandings through in-depth investigation. It also stimulates them to demonstrate the skills, attitudes and knowledge required to complete a project over an extended period of time; to communicate effectively in a variety of situations; to demonstrate responsible action through, or as a result of, learning; and appreciate the process of learning and take pride in their accomplishments.
After attending this public presentation, the result of their assessment are moderated internally and externally by IBO against 4 assessment criteria: (A) Investigation (B) Planning (C) Taking Action (D) Reflecting.
The external validation of personal project grades is mandatory for all MYP schools ending in year 5. The IB moderates a sample of personal projects from each school, adjusting grades as necessary to ensure the application of rigorous and reliable international standards.
The IB MYP certificate requires a satisfactory level of achievement in the personal project.
