Mindfulness Time At School

As days are getting busier, everyone needs to be more focus and also recharging their energy to reach their full potential. But how?

At school, we practice “mindfulness time”. It is the time to pay attention to the present moment, without judgment. In this 5 minutes breaktime, we focus on the breath, to feel the physical sensation of breathing and use it as an anchor to the present moment. It helps us put some space between ourselves and our reactions, breaking down our conditioned responses.

We aimed to see a visible calmness descended over the students during their learning experiences without disruptive action, either in the classroom or during breaktime. We want to see students who are happier, more focused and showing signs of developing strategies to deal with challenges and difficulties.

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Please also try at home and get benefit from it! []
