On Tuesday, August 7, 2018 our Parents Workshop was about delivering Assessment in PYP, MYP, and High School.
The purpose of assessment are to promote student learning, provide information about student learning and contribute to the successful implementation of the programme.
The unique approaches to assessment in the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) can be explained that it is process of gathering and analysing information about student performance. In PYP, we dont set examinations or moderate grades. The schools identify what students know, understand, can do and value at different stages in the teaching and learning process.
In all MYP subject areas, assessment is based on criteria. These allow students and teachers to measure how much progress has been made in achieving the subject objectives. Each subject has 4 criteria which are used to evaluate students’ achievement. Sometimes all criteria are applied
to an assessment task; sometimes only selected criteria are applied.
We strongly believe that parental support and involvement in learning process plays critical role to student’s learning journey especially on understanding the different form of assessment in IB World School.
